Hello there,
endlich hab ich mich an meine erste Explosionsbox gewagt und das gleich zu einem besonderen Anlass, nämlich einer Hochzeit. Da die Brautleute überaus begeisterte Taucher sind und die Hochzeit dann auch noch an der Sardischen Costa Smeralda stattfand, wollte ich die Themen „Tauchen und Wasser“ unbedingt aufgreifen.
Finally I ventured to make my first explosion box. Frinds of ours – enthusiastic divers – got married at Sardinias Costa Smeralda. Hence I wanted the explosion box to have a „watery“ look and reminded of the brides and grooms hobby.
Da es meine erste Box war, hab ich mir davor mal einen „Dummy“ in den sehr üblichen Maßen 7 x 7 x 7 cm gebaut, um gleich festzustellen, dass mein geplantes Innenleben keinen Platz finden würde.
As it was my very first explosion box I started with a dummy box with the common measurements of 7 x 7 x 7 cm, which turned out to be too small for my planned interiors.
Geworden ist es schlussendlich eine Box mit den Maßen 9 x 12 x 9 cm. Außen habe ich sie eher schlicht gehalten und versucht mit verschiedenen Blautönen und geprägtem Papier einen Konnex zu Wasser zu schaffen.
At the end I had a box of 9 x 12 x 9 cm. I kept the outside rather simple and tried to accomplish the connection to water with several shades of blue and dry embossing.
Innen durfte es dann etwas bunter sein (das ließ sich schon allein mit den Tauchfiguren nicht anders lösen). Die Haarfarben der Spielzeugtaucher wurden dem echten Brautpaar nachempfunden – für die Braut gab es natürlich auch noch Schleier und Brautstrauß.
The inside became more colourful due to the fact I used the toy divers to embody the bride & groom as well as the more colourful underwater background. The haircolours of the figures are modelled on the real couple; for the bride I created a wedding bouquet and a veil.
Und dann musste noch etwas Platz sein für das Geldgeschenk sowie persönliche Glückwünsche.
And of course we needed some space to hide the present and to place a personal message.
